José Bolio Halloran is a distinguished lawyer and entrepreneur with 25 years of extensive experience and a robust academic foundation. As a recognized authority in Mexican legal matters for foreign investors, he is the author of the insightful guide, “The Foreign Investor’s Legal Guide to Riviera Maya Real Estate: Securing Your Slice of Paradise,” and other vital resources, including “The Foreign Investor’s Guide to Corporate Law and Taxation.”

A proud alumnus of the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM), one of Latin America’s most prestigious universities, José earned his law degree in 2002. He further honed his expertise with a Master’s Degree in Tax Law from Universidad Anáhuac Mayab in 2023.

Throughout his career, José has proven to be a seasoned legal professional, adept at structuring complex matters, navigating intricate litigation, and masterfully handling negotiations for both public and private entities. His broad legal oversight spans critical areas such as copyright, intellectual property, partnerships, real estate, and significant construction and infrastructure projects.

Before assuming his current role as Managing Partner at PeninsuLawyers, José held influential positions, including Legal Director of the Southeast Region of Petróleos Mexicanos, Legal Director at SIMCA Desarrollos, and a contract lawyer at Televisa.
